Map of Downtown Vancouver
Greater Vancouver is sprawling, but thanks to an excellent public transportation network of bus, rail and ferry, it’s relatively easy to get around without a car.
In downtown Vancouver, a car is more a hindrance than a help. You can get to most places within the city center easily on foot, walking from the convention centre to David Lam Park in about 20 minutes, or from the convention centre to Stanley Park in about 30 minutes.
For attractions outside of the downtown core–Kitsilano Beach, the Capilano Suspension Bridge, or Grouse Mountain, for example–the city’s excellent public transportation is an efficient and affordable alternative to walking.
